Edmund Rubbra (May 23, 1901 – February 14, 1986), was a British composer.

Rubbra was natural within Northampton, England. He worked as the railway man when going school, so won a scholarship to the Royal College of Music, where he exposed under Gustav Holst, Cyril Scott and Ralph Vaughan Williams. When in the army in the period of World War II, Rubbra founded a soft trio. When the war, he became a music lecturer at Oxford. Inside 1948, he converted to Roman Catholicism.

Rubbra's musical output involved eleven symphonies, four string quartets and three concertos.
